BCO Mission, Goals and How to Join

Legacy statement:

Breastfeeding is the cultural norm in Oregon.

Mission statement:

To build and link community partners to support, promote and protect breastfeeding in Oregon.

Goals:

  1. Increase access to lactation support services and accurate breastfeeding information.
  2. Support employed breastfeeding mothers.
  3. Support efforts to reduce the impact of formula marketing practices.
  4. Increase use and acceptance of banked human milk for children who do not have access to breastmilk.
  5. Assure success of local breastfeeding coalitions.
  6. Assure broader community representation in BCO membership.
  7. Assure funding and visibility for the continuation of the coalition.
