Public Health Division Recognition Program:
The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) has an employer recognition program called the Breastfeeding Mother-Friendly Employer Project. Oregon employers who have a worksite policy and a clear plan to communicate that policy to all employees, can apply to be recognized.
- The Project enrollment packet and other breastfeeding and working resources are available on the Department of Human Services website.
Community Recognition Program:
Do you know an outstanding worksite lactation program? Each year, Nursing Mothers Counsel of Oregon recognizes employers with breastfeeding-friendly business practices. To nominate an employer, contact NMC President Chanda Stone | email
Previous NMC Outstanding Employer Awards have been given to:
- Oregon Health and Sciences University, for being the largest employer in Oregon to earn the DHS designation, and
- New Seasons Market, for being the first grocery store and chain in Oregon to earn the DHS designation.
